WebWorks (by Quadralay Corp.) is a great tool for converting FrameMaker or Word documents into
HTML or any ASCII file format (RTF, XML, etc.). Using WebWorks,
you can generate Help files (CHM or HLP), and web documents from the same
source files that you use for printing. You can also use WebWorks to generate
your "What's This Help" files from the same FrameMaker or Word files.
Assuming that your FrameMaker or Word files make consistent use of
paragraph and character styles, a custom WebWorks template can be developed to
process your files without modification. If your files are not consistently
tagged, they can be cleaned up through other means, then processed with
WebWorks. Depending on the "design" of your Help system, a custom WebWorks
template may require that some modifications be made to your source files.
These modifications can also be scripted if necessary.
Right out of the box, WebWorks can produce a very clean looking Help system.
For a more customized result, WebWorks can make use of Perl scripts or other
external programs.
We have considerable experience creating very specialized WebWorks templates
for highly interactive Help systems. Let us develop a template to match
your existing layout, or work with you to create a new design.
WebWorks can be tailored to generate
virtually any Help system, regardless of its complexity!
